Hill House Bed & Breakfast The fall colors are still beautiful! We took Bailey to the Arboretum yesterday for a Sunday stroll and it was just gorgeous -- our favorite spot for a peaceful afternoon. They are having an exhibit through November 15th "Celebrating Nature Through Photography".

Hill House Bed & Breakfast Guests recently saw 2 bear cubs while visiting Craggy Gardens!!! Possibly mama bear showed up, since the picnic area is now temporarily closed. No worries -- Mt. Mitchell is just a bit further up the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy great views and a nice hike.

(Asheville, NC)—Blue Ridge Parkway officials announce the temporary closure of the Craggy Gardens Picnic Area at Milepost 367.6 until at least Labor Day weekend, September 4, 2009. The closure began Friday, August 21 because of bear activity in the area.
