Hill House Bed & Breakfast Guests recently saw 2 bear cubs while visiting Craggy Gardens!!! Possibly mama bear showed up, since the picnic area is now temporarily closed. No worries -- Mt. Mitchell is just a bit further up the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy great views and a nice hike.

(Asheville, NC)—Blue Ridge Parkway officials announce the temporary closure of the Craggy Gardens Picnic Area at Milepost 367.6 until at least Labor Day weekend, September 4, 2009. The closure began Friday, August 21 because of bear activity in the area.
