The artists selected to participate in "Details" were hand picked based on their intricate line work and detailed compositions. However, the concepts and work presented in this exhibition go beyond the realm of illustration and extend outside the confines of the paper or canvas . With "Details" MINT Gallery brings toge...ther four emerging artists whose diverse backgrounds and styles are tied together by imaginative execution that will include objects, installations, prints, projections, and performance. With subjects that extend from early video games to the Challenger explosion and influences from skateboarding to portraiture, a broad slice of contemporary culture will be examined while simultaneously peering into the future of Atlanta's emerging art scene.

MINT
This Saturday, November 22nd 2008, MINT presents it's first solo show in almost a year: "Fun Art Time" new works and installation by Squanto. Musical performance by Ile' Tambor and Noot d'Noot. 8pm - 11pm at MINT. Free.

Squanto' s work is a technicolor dreamscape that draws upon native american imagery, kitsch objects,... cartoonish illustration, and pop culture references. Irony is piled upon itself in a glittery, collage driven world of psychedelia. Squanto's art has been shown in the past at galleries such as Beep Beep Gallery, and a solo show this past January at Aurora Coffee in little five points. This is her first show since capturing the interest of Atlanta's underground art scene at MINT Gallery's "Employee Picks" show this summer. Expect to be overloaded with color and sound as you witness a creative explosion by one of Atlanta's most promising artists.

From the Artist:
"The opening will start off with some pretty righteous club music...
to get you sweaty...
about the same time your are stuck in a k-hole it will slow down into a calm-tribal-drum circle...
you will be able to join arms and orb out in a trance...
lie on the floor... I'll provide pillows and everything.

Its all about you- remember that.
All I require is that all in attendance must dress like rainbows/INJUNS and/or Pilgrims...
you can also dress like PUGSLY from Adams Family 2,
when he dressed like a TURKEY and sang the "EAT ME" song...
OH yeah--- and you need to get sweaty.

If you are shy- I will provide a DANCE SHEET for you to dance under,
so you can sweat/move and all that, IN PRIVATE..."

So there you go.
