Auburn University Department of Music Don't forget the master class and recital by Joel Burcham. A faculty member at the University of Colorado - Boulder Mr. Burcham is a major new performer on the the operatic stage. Master Class Friday (11.13) at noon and his Recital is Saturday (11.14) at 7:30. Both events are in the Recital Hall.

Auburn University Department of Music This Thursday (Nov. 12) Bill Schaffer and Jeremy Samolesky will be performing at 7:30 in the Recital Hall. The program will include 2 seldom performed and highly virtuosic works by Ferdinand Reis, the Andante by Richard Strauss (op. posth.) and a set of trios by various composers with Pedro Paz (Senior, BMI) and Chris Stanley (Senior, BA).

Remember to attend the Fall Choral Concert on SUNDAY, November 1 @ 2:30 at Auburn United Methodist Church. Ensembles include the Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir. Expect to hear compositions by G. F. Handel, Orazio Vecchi, Johannes Brahms, Eric Whitacre, Rosephanye Powell, and others. Seve...ral guest instrumentalists will also play during the program. It promises to be an uplifting event!

Auburn University Department of Music Barry Snyder has developed a reputation as a versatile musician, with solo, concerto and chamber music appearances in a career that spans some forty years. He won early attention in 1966, when he won the Silver Medal, Pan American Union and chamber music prizes in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Since ...then, he has made many successful recordings, winning the award of the Diapason d’Or for a recording of the complete cello and piano music of Fauré. Committed to performing twentiethcentury music, Barry Snyder has given several world premières of contemporary music and is Professor of Piano at the Eastman School of Music. In 1975 he was awarded the Edward Peck Curtis Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching from the University of Rochester.
