Audubon North Carolina Holly Shelter Game Land in Pender County is an expansive wildland with vast longleaf pine savannahs, pocosin, and really intriguing seasonal ponds. An Audubon Important Bird Area and site on the NC Birding Trail, the game land is home to some sought-after species like Red-cockaded Woodpecker and Bachman's Sparrow.
