Texas State Board of Pharmacy House Bill 1409, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, amended the Texas Pharmacy Act allowing pharmacists to administer influenza vaccinations to patients over 7 years of age without an established patient-physician relationship. Pharmacists administering vaccinations must have appropriate training and have a written protocol from a supervising physician. The bill becomes effective on September 1, 2009.

Texas State Board of Pharmacy FDA is seeking assistance in tracking down several Sanofi-Aventis drug products that were stolen in a tractor trailer on July 9, 2009.
