Autism Speaks Last year I had the incredible opportunity to teach a group of 5 boys with autism spectrum disorder. I was an Instructional Assistant working with them in a first grade classroom that included 13 typical developing children. I worked together with another I.A., would have been impossible on my own. It was very inten...se; everyday was emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting. It was also extremely rewarding and a valuable life experience. I hope to get my special education degree and certification in the near future (already recieved my M.Ed. in elementary education) so I'll be able to support and teach more children diagnosed with ASD.

We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and ...to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.
