Automotive Art Antigua held its first Meguiar’s demonstration on June 3rd 2010 .This demo was geared a little differently than those in the past, in that we just did an area on the participant’s vehicle. Due to the economic down turn we have realized more car owners are washing their cars themselves and more so the wom...en who became the focus of this exercise. The demo was tweaked in some key areas to educate the participants of how to mix, apply and reap the benefits of the Meguiar’s products. For two weeks in advance we ran this on the radio and in the store (spend $130 and get a free Meguiar’s bag and on the day of the demo have you car body washed and the products you purchased demoed on your car). The response was very good and the owners were looking forward to it. Within two weeks we had 14 cars scheduled, with at least $130 spent per car.
On Saturday at 9am the first car arrived ready to experience this new wave. As we hoped it was a young lady, who washes her own car and was more than grateful to have had the knowledge about Meguiar’s shared at no cost. This atmosphere created great opportunities to add on and the interaction between the customers and our staff was unbelievable .On more than one occasion the owners got involved in actual hands on with the waxing or tire shine etc. Department 60 sales on that day increased by approximately 30%. In some instances customers who had already spent $130 some two weeks before spent additional money to buy more products. In total 14 cars were done between 9am and 4pm which we would say is very impressive. This will be an on going event and we do look forward to much more sales in Meguiar’s.
