Kieran has a very developed sense of rhythm and can't resist any opportunity to play a percussion instrument. Even though he sings very well, he'd rather play than sing! You can see how closely he pays attention not only to the response he is to produce, but also the rhythm in my question that I sing.
Thank you, Jen...nifer and William, for sharing Kieran with me this past year. I love every minute! Even those when he's pretending he's not in the room during sharing time! :-)

Sydney wanted to play the woodblock in her own inimitable way - which prompted her to take it out of my hand during the taping.
She also brought an original Sydney drawing to class today that she proclaimed was the "cover shot" for our "High Five" television show. You can see it on the corkboard in the background as ...well as in her hands in the group video.
I learned from her mom, Lauren, that "High Five" is a program on Kid Disney that they enjoy and it's a perfect tie-in with our "Goodbye Jive" where we always give each other high-fives.
You just never know what's going to pop in one of our classes - but it's always *fun*!
Thank you, Lauren and Scott, for sharing Sydney and Leah with me. I'm really looking forward to Young Child in the fall!

The last day of class, my ABC Music & Me students wanted to take turns singing by themselves while being videoed. (Natural hams!)
This song is a question-and-answer song that is a little more complicated than just the simple echo song recorded earlier. In this song, Leah had to listen to my question and formulate he...r own answer which requires changing the subject and verb in her response. Enjoy as she sings, but pay close attention to the end. I just love her eager question!

This video was made of three of my ABC Music & Me studio class - Kieran, Sydney, and Leah - singing a call-and-response (echo) song from our unit "Dance with Me". It was the last class of our 15-week semester.
Using 5yo's imaginations, we had climbed to the top of our mountain (a blue mountain, at that!) and now bega...n to sing, listening to the echoes bouncing off the mountaintop back to us. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
