BADA-UK (Borreliosis & Associated Diseases Awareness UK)

We are very grateful to "The Hunting Life" for choosing BADA-UK to be a recipient of funds raised from the charity calendar. People involved in country sports are in a high risk category in regard to tick-borne disease and so they are amongst the groups that BADA-UK focuses on in raising awareness. Our thanks go to everyone involved in the creation of the calendar. All funds raised will go towards our continued activities to raise awareness.

Debbie, we understand completely the limitations regarding testing. The simple reason that we have specified a preference is that we already have many people who have offered to tell their story who do not have NHS tests and have featured them in previous years for Tick Prevention Week. We would like to balance this with some who do. We wish you all the best with your continued treatment.

It seems that there is a great deal of difference between human and veterinary medicine. While the controversy over the duration of antibiotic treatment in humans rages on, veterinary manuals suggest that longer courses may be needed in canines, as studies showed treatment failure in courses of 30 days.

You're very welcome Nicky - we're glad it arrived so promptly; it's in the lap of the gods right now with the postal strike action. It's a great idea to give tick removers as gifts to someone you know might need one. It helps to raise awareness and gets them well equipped!
