BAFTA and Rocliffe are delighted to announce that David Parfitt, the highly acclaimed, BAFTA and Oscar-winning producer of Shakespeare in Love, I Capture the Castle, Much Ado About Nothing, The Madness of King George, and forthcoming feature A Bunch of Amateurs, will co-chair the BAFTA / Rocliffe New Writing Forum on 13 November. David is the Chairman of BAFTA, and before moving into film production, worked as an actor and theatre producer.
After a few low-key years, the British film industry is experiencing a sudden burst of activity across low, medium and higher budget production. While Brits often complain about our national cinema, foreign critics are writing about exciting talents emerging from the UK. Are we in a British film boom? And if so, what industrial and cultural factors are behind it?

BAFTA award-winning documentary director Brian Hill is internationally acclaimed for his unconventional, hybrid documentaries. Working with distinguished poet Simon Armitage, many of his recent films combine song, poetry and performance in their portrayal of contemporary issues. His films include; The Not Dead, Consent, Drinking For England, Falling Apart, Feltham Sings, and Songbirds.
