A GEERG expedition recently used a sonar-equipped VideoRay ROV to locate sharks in the murky waters of the St. Lawrence. A VideoRay ROV located several specimens in an effort to reduce search time on scuba in poor visibility. The VideoRay was also used to locate and report the position of sharks in total darkness durin...g a night dive.

BARE Video review of BARE's unisex VOODOO BC.

Source: www.youtube.com
The BARE Voodoo is not your typical back-buoyancy BC. Under the cargo pockets and weight pouches hides a second air cell that wraps around the waist. You get the joy of a Wing design with the comfort of a Jacket style BC.

Recent product review from Sucba Diving Magazine on the BARE Dry Top Snorkel.

True to its name, BARE’s new snorkel is definitely a drybreather. This is due primarily to its patent-pending dry-top housing design that blocks water from the topof the large-bore breathing tube when you submerge, making it that much easier t...o clear when returning to the surface. Diving the snorkel, we experienced no gurgling on the inhale. Any water that manages to seep into the snorkel quickly drops into the self draining chamber just below the mouthpiece, so we were never hampered by a sloppy breath. The main breathing tube is oval-shaped to improve its hydro dynamics, and a short length of flexible hose allows the mouthpiece to hang down and out of the way when not in use. A swiveled mask-strap keeper is included; it comes with a push-button release that lets you separate snorkel from mask for easy storage. Available in six colors. wwwbaresports.comRead More

Dave - this particular one does not come with a black skirt. However, we do offer the DUO B (2 window mask) with a blackskirt. www.baresports.com for more information.

SUUNTO Cobra 3 wins 2009 Testers' Choice in the September/October issue of Scuba Diving Magazine. BARE is the SUUNTO distributor in Canada.

"Bottom Line: We like the sleek design, bold digits and two-color graphs. With a well-laidout owner’s manual, there’s a lot to love."

FEATURES:
The Cobra 3 features a new electronic 3-D compass that can handle up to 45 degrees of tilt. The system displays tank pressure up to 5,000 psi and comes with a Deep Stop feature. A dot-matrix display and two color bar graphs easily track depth, NDLs and ascent rate. All critical data is easy to see and use. Retrieving surface-interval info after the dive can be a little tricky until you get used to the system, but the digital compass is one of the better designs we’ve seen.

Liberal or Conservative Conservative. Personal adjustment and altitude settings offer more conservatism, but it’s also possible to adjust RGBM settings to make calculations more liberal.

I like Suunto products (I dive with a wrist mounted Gekko) but I'm not convince AI is the way to go for me. I like having a backup for my computer and a separate SPG.

I use a Vytec with AI and it is great. I like the added info all on my wrist...but I do have an SPG as a backup just in case. Wife uses a Vyper console mount but is looking at wrist mount in the future.

For its intended purpose - transport you and your gear to a remote dive location it works great. Very stable (due to its width) and easy to get on and off. Moves through the water very well. Also, very transportable. For puttering around I think you'd have fun. Don't enter the Yukon 1000 Kayak Race with it and expect to win.

Richard DePas Is there a way to get my CD4 taken in? Wife put me on a huge diet and it WORKED! Now 40+ pounds lighter my 3XL CD4 is pretty baggy. I hate to buy another when this one is in great shape. Would be a good time to get smaller boots put on too :)

Only one LDS got back to me...disappointing. I was hoping to hear back from a couple and find one that actually had CD4's in stock to try on. We missed the Bare event at teh quarry a couple months ago - that would have been the perfect time to try them out. Would think it would be easier to try out dry suits right next to Lake MI.
