BICYCLING magazine Boulder Report, latest racing update: Contador to stay with Astana (probably, we think), and what that means/Quick Step parts with Specialized, will ride Merckx in 2010.

Source: bicycling.com
As anyone with a pulse* knows by now, Alberto Contador is going to stay with Astana. The most hotly pursued non-free agent cyclist in the history of history has decided not to test the strength of his contractual obligations and will honor his existing contract with the Kazakh team.

I like the vise grip and I agree about hand built conventional wheels. The Rolfs etc are nice, but 32 hole wheels are still awesome.

When I first heard of Psycho Cross, I didn't get it, I wondered who would want to ride modded road bikes in the mud and snow and portage them in the trees. Then one day, with my gunked up mountain bike, soaking wet and screaming, I found myself doing the same thing. It kind of sucked, but I thought, if there were some other guys doing the same ... Read Morething and it was a competition, that would be BRUTAL! So of course there are designs now with narrow mud tires and lots of clearance. I think their rules are against MTBs, but rigid MTB with narrow tires work very well.

You can dremel out the clamps for MTB shifter pods and put them on road drops, works well. I did it for a road race bike with LX 8speed.

Not much of a mountain biker, but have done some in the off season. Can't say that any of it was at night. Given my preference for speed, I'd probably end up killing myself by running into something.

I am asking myself that same question. I have a 3 year old and a 3 month old. I believe a trailer would be the safest bet out of the three but it all depends on the situation.

I love riding with my 8 year old son on my old Scwhinn Twinn, he can't reach the crank yet so he rides with his feet on the down tube. It's a single speed so no good on the hills, gearing to high for going up and you spin out too soon going down but with almost 40 year old braking tech we shouldn't go too fast anyway lol.

I agree. I live in New Jersey and I commute on my bike daily and motorists really don't care. I try to be safe with reflectors, lights, etc. Countless times of getting cut off, opening of doors, or drivers just a little too close. I think motorist should ride in our shoes for a day to see what we go through. I'm about to get a jersey that says "... Read MoreSlow down I could your brother". I bet if someone in their family got hit they would be really pissed. Just asking for some consideration motorists!!!!!!!
