Babble.com I'm a mom to two kids, and I've been dragged through the mud by depression really hard. I'm losing my grip on sanity. My husband is not supportive of me getting counseling or taking medication. He believes that a lot of mental health problems would be solved through his spiritual beliefs. He says I'm not depressed, just lazy. It's really hard to cope with this. What should I do?

Babble.com I am so sick of moms who seem to stop caring about how they look just because they have kids. Seriously, how hard is it to blow dry your hair and put a swipe of lipstick on before you leave the house? Wouldn't you agree that they are giving us moms who still have some self-respect a bad name? See how Parental Advisory answered this query!
Jolene at 6:15pm June 24
All around... stupid topic. And even more stupid is the person that said that your kids "always have to look their best". They are kids. They should be covered in gook and having fun. They have the whole rest of their lives to put on superficial identities based on appearances.
Amy at 2:05pm June 25
Apparently this woman has a child that sleeps more than 20- 30 minutes in a nap and/or maybe some help (family, nanny, sitter) that comes to her house while she takes the time to shower, blowdry, and apply makeup. Even if she were to only take 20 minutes to do all this (i am a hairstylist and know unless you have a very short cut or crappy thin ... Read Morehair you could never blowdry your hair properly in less than 15 minutes and have it looks nice) then good for her. However in the Real world as much as I love love love to apply makeup and was NEVER a woman to leave the house without eyebrows enhanced with some powder and some gloss and mascara when my child does fall asleep for his nap I have several other things I must attend to like oh I don't know.....dishes, laundry, my dogs, oh yeah cleaning up all the toys from pre-nap playtime, making lunch and or dinner, cleaning the house, changing bedding oh yeah working...she is in la la land is all i can say
