Baby Bunching Did you travel this year for the holidays? Are you still traveling? Tell us about it here or over at Baby Bunching.

We narrowly escaped having to go anywhere this holiday season. No car trips, no plane rides. No public transportation so to speak of. It rocked! This was the first year we made everyone come to us. Selfish? Perhaps. But boy...
Mara

Mara I know this has been mentioned before, but I just posted this as my status "Mara Demien
had no idea 4 months ago how important those plastic "car/truck carts"
would be to my grocery shopping experience. Shuffling along with two
carts and a fussy infant doesn't work and takes quadruple the time and
you still don't finish be...fore the infant melts down!" What I didn't add was that all 3 of us were crying on the way home. I sent a detailed complaint to the store chain saying that I will likely be foregoing the deals their chain offers to instead go to a store where they have PLENTY of plastic carts for the toddlers to drive.

Just venting to fellow baby bunchers who understand...

We totally understand Mara. Grocery stores can be some of the hardest to maneuver through with kids.

Looks like my Kolcraft Contour double stroller. Except it was half the price of this one and came with everthing you would need for two kids. It has the adapter for an infant carrier with it that fits most brands, a huge shopping basket and is able to face front or back (both seats) and reclines back. I get a lot of compliments on it and I only spent $219 at target.com

my 2nd is only 9 months and i'm already starting to worry about the #3 decision. We always knew we wanted two, but the third is really up in the air. i worry about offering what we want to give our children, from education to travel. but then I look at my sweet infant and wonder how I could possibly say good bye to this wonderful time in my life forever. not an easy decision!

My son is going to be 10mths old and I am starting to hear that whisper in my ear to have another. But I am crazy busy and just getting to like sleeping through the night again. Do I want to start over again? But I am if it means another wonderful bundle of joy. But what will it do to our family if it is the wrong decision?what kind of strain will it put on us? It is hard but it helps to know there are others like us wondering the same thing!!

I am so glad I did!! My girls are almost 20 months apart. I initially wanted to have them be approx. 3 years apart, like my sister and I were growing up. But when my mom was diagnosed with Cancer we decided to try early instead, hoping my mom would have more time with her last grand child. She did, almost 6 weeks, a true blessing. Anyways, everything happens for a reason, it will all work out in the end no matter what you decide. Best of Luck

My two sons and I participated in the local holiday parade with our Moms Club. We had so much fun and my two year old had hundreds of people to wave to. My nine month old slept through it. We made our double stroller a mini float and walked along the big float with some other moms. I had never had so much fun. I realized just being a part of your ... One of the Moms in our club posted a request for baby items to borrow when her frinds was in town. I thought it was such a great idea. That way her freind didn't have to pack the whole house to travel. Also when we visit my inlaws in FL (the land of grandparents as I call it) there are companies that rent everyting for a really low price. Something... See More to look for if you are traveling. I just told everyone if you want to see us you know where we live!! lol SO we are hosting guests but it is easier than traveling with a two year old and a nine month old!!

Kelly, we're doing 2 pack n plays in the room where we are sleeping and crossing our fingers. Our bunch is 25 and 6 months old and don't sleep in the same room yet. Erin, we sing a "getting ready for the bath" song and don't care who hears it. Do whatever works for you!

Sleeping arrangements are a major concern! My oldest (18 months) sleeps in her own room and puts herself to sleep. I can't exactly expect her to do that in a new environment... so how the heck will she fall asleep and will this mess things up for when we return home? Luckily, the baby (2.5 months) sleeps in a hammock which is portable.. And the car ride there is another thing.. with a baby who HATES the car, we have a ton of screaming ahead of us.
