We just had my mother-in-law's chaise refurbished. She had it since she was a young girl and now it sits in my playroom. I got the fabric at the Ballard Outlet at DeFoor Ave for $5 a yard (regularly $20!) so that made it even better. I love the chaise because my husband & I can stretch out on the chaise with one of the kids and read or watch a ... Read Moremovie. With ottomans I tend to use them to stack stuff but I would never pile stuff on a chaise. I think ottomans are great in a family room where you need lots of seating but a chaise looks great in a bedroom or sitting room.

Hi Brenda! I asked on of our design team members your question. Here is what she had to say: It really depends on how much bigger the planter box is in relationship to the window. If it is more than 6” on either side of the window, I would say no. If it does overhang the window by more that 6” on each side, perhaps you can install shutters on the window to extend the width.

I asked a member of our design team your question and here is her answer for you: As much as we would like for her to have one of our piped slipcovers, it is just not a good idea to try and tailor one, unless you know what you are doing – you could end up with a huge mess and a slipcover that doesn... Read More’t fit. Our suggestion is to find someone local to make a slipcover with piping – if you give them a picture of our piped slips, we are sure they can make it for you. You can purchase Ballard fabric for the slip, so that you truly have the same look. I would check with the local fabric store in your area for people who make slipcovers. Our slipcovers are made specifically for our furniture so that they are truly a custom fit, so trying to make it work on another piece, just may not work.

I didn't know my husband had a saw until we were married for a couple of years, so that takes care of the debate on whether or not something gets painted. Used to only like light wood but am gravitating towards the dark woods -- probably all the advertising got into my head. Mind Control is alive and working!

Love a good mixture of wood tones and painted pieces, mix it up!
