The tender and powerful new work by choreographer Liv Lorent, inspired by the huge impact the arrival of a baby has on a relationship. Blood, Sweat & Tears... the ups and downs of unconditional love. Premiering 29th-30th January 2010 at Northern Stage, Newcastle upon Tyne.

balletLORENT are seeking a female dancer as an understudy/apprentice for our new work, "Blood, Sweat & Tears".
The rehearsal and performance period will run from 30th November 2009 until 31st January 2010.
Those wishing to be considered will be invited to join company class between 13th-16 October from 9:30-11:00am at Du...rrant Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne.

I thought Designer body was sadly lacking. The plinths, the musical score, the bodies dressed where fine. Statuesque like Romanesque or statues that are familiar with all grand european cities but when clothes the bodies moved more freely. They moved beautifully and expressively. The more undressed the dancers became, ...the more restricted they became. When the dancers reached total nudity , through modesty and knowing they where naked, their bodies became rigid, closed and the whole idea of the 50 minutes was lost and proved when naked we are less free and expressive. Just an arty excuse for a striptease.Read More

This summer we are pleased to be visiting Norway to recreate la nuit intime in collaboration with Carte Blanche, having been invited by Artistic Director, Bruno Heynderick.
Liv Lorent will work with six dancers from balletLORENT and eight from Carte Blanche from the 20th April to the 27th May 2009 to re-create the work,... which will be premiered at The Bergen International Festival on the 22nd, 23rd, 26th and 27th May.
Liv Lorent will be joined in Bergen by Simon Birch (Rehearsal Director), and balletLORENT dancers Caroline Reece, Debbi Purtill, Gwen Berwick, Gavin Coward, Raymond Roa and Davie Ra.
balletLORENT is delighted to be working with Carte Blanche on la nuit intime, and to have been given the opportunity to be programmed as part of this prestigious festival.Read More
