Balloon Explorium Inc. This was a 60 second Eastern Airlines commercial from the mid-1960s. It was filmed in France with an exact working replica of the Montgolfier Balloon. The reenactment of the first manned flight was complete with a large cast in period 1783 costume. Produced by Dennis Powers. Narrated by Orson Wells.

Balloon Explorium Inc. The Balloon Museums public event celebrating the Montgolfier Brothers first flight was very fun. We helped kids and parents make about 12 of the small 2' high tissue paper balloons and flew them. We used the instructions "Sixth-Grade Aeronauts" from Science and Children (Sept/89), National Science Teachers Associatio...n found on our website. Participants were able to build them in a fairly short period of time, took only 4 full size pieces of tissue paper and they flew ok. They didn't go real high like the 6' ones the students build for Paper-Takes-Flight but they demonstrated the concepts.
