According to national statistics, of the 4,500 sudden, unexpected infant deaths that occur each year in the United States, at least 8 out of 10 happen when the baby is sleeping with an adult.

Over 200 guests gathered to celebrate and remember the joy Elizabeth Redd Lenhart brought to all our lives. All guests also enjoyed live music provided by The Greg Shelton Trio and First Flight High School's own Justin Rudolph, while sipping complimentary cocktails and watching the sun set on the sound.
The silent auc...tion was a huge success, which offered a variety items donated by Outer Banks' businesses and residents. The evening began at 4:30 pm and lasted until 11:00 pm. Everyone involved had a wonderful time.
The event raised over $11,000 going towards SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) research and advocacy through the national non-profit organization First Candle.
Jessica and I want to thank everyone who helped to make this event possible - our selfless volunteers, local restaurants, local entertainment, local businesses, local promotions, local media outlets, and everyone who attended! See you next year for the 2nd Annual Event!!Read More
