This collaboration between Pastor David Vasquez and LIRS contributes to the important national conversation about immigration by placing it in the larger context of our stories of faith.

As people of faith, we have much to offer and to gain from joining the conversation about people on the move.

New Report Documents Abuse of
Sahrawi Refugees’ Rights in Algeria
Camps

A new study, “Group Rights & International Law: Case
Study of the Sahrawi Refugees in Algeria” published by the Inter-University
Center for Legal Studies & the Moroccan American Center for Policy
documents 30+ years of serious human rights violations an...d humanitarian crisis
resulting from the warehousing of Sahrawi refugees confined to desert camps
near Tindouf, in southwestern Algeria. The report examines the role int’l law
can play in helping refugees regain their freedom and makes specific
recommendations to improve their lives and protect their rights, including:
conducting a census, establishing an intimidation-free voluntary repatriation
program, and ensuring a permanent int’l NGO presence to monitor distribution of

The Fugees Family is a small grass-roots non-profit organization working with refugee boys in Clarkston, GA (on the east side of Atlanta). We do Soccer, Tutoring, and Summer Literacy Camp, in addition to celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July. The Fugees come together around a shared love of soccer; by playing and studying together, they become family and help motivate each other to stay in school, learn English, and plan for college.

To read more, visit us on the web at www.fugeesfamily.org.
All of our programs are free for the Fugees. Thanks for your support.
