This is a great chance to hear Schubert's lively, rarely-performed Singspiel, Die Verschworenen, based on Lysistrata. The women come up with an ingenious, f...ail-proof method of preventing their husbands from going to war, but thanks to some judicious spying the men find out and put their own counter-plan in to action. Ravishing music and a very funny production make this an unmissable opportunity.

Touring production of Apollo and Hyacinth, Mozart's one act opera composed when he was 11, and Le cinesi by Gluck, on Sunday 24 August, and Bank Holiday Monday 25 August. Conducted by Murray Hipkin, and singers Martene Grimson, Amanda Pitt, Serena Kay, Lina Markeby, Tom Raskin.
