Barb Byrum owns a hardware store and has extensive experience in regional economic development issues.
Before joining the House, Byrum served as chair of the Ingham County Economic Development Corporation and as secretary of the Ingham County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Board. She is the past president of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and remains active with local chambers of commerce in the region. Byrum is a board member of the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program and is a member of the Mason Rotary Club.
A product of local public schools, Byrum is actively involved in educational issues. She served on the scholarship committee of the Holt-Dimondale School Business Alliance and continues to mentor high school students.
Byrum is a graduate of Michigan State University, earning a bachelor of science degree in agri-business management and a law degree from the MSU College of Law.
Byrum is a long-time resident of Onondaga and continues to live there with her husband Brad Delaney, an Ingham County Deputy Sheriff, and her son Blake.
In her spare time, Byrum is an avid reader and scuba diver.
