Anvil Arts Culture Club was the first band since The Beatles to achieve three top 10 hits from their debut album Kissing to Be Clever on the US Billboard charts.

As the front man of one of the UK’s biggest ever bands Boy George needs little introduction… he has sold millions of albums worldwide and secured top 10 hits in every cou...ntry. He remains one of the world’s most recognisable pop and fashion icons.

His 2008 tour proved he is still top of his game…

"Beyond…the face paint lies a great British soul voice. Church Of The Poison Mind was delivered at breakneck speed and overflowed with joie de vivre. Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? was the very epitome of dreaminess and the beloved Karma Chameleon gained a new layer of loveliness in a new, stately incarnation" The Evening Standard

Anvil Arts Theatre Centre presents RIGGED by Ashmeed Sohoye.

I don’t wanna be the hardest man in the smallest town.
I want something more.
Let me slot in the pound coin, push the buttons and watch the wheels spin.
Will I hit the jackpot or are the odds stacked against me?

Nathan has been excluded from school and spends his days in the... gambling arcades. He has been given an ASBO banning him from the town centre, while his girlfriend Sarah has aspirations to continue her education. Their lives change dramatically with the discovery that Sarah is pregnant. Can the two of them escape their dysfunctional families and create a secure life for themselves and their child, or is the system implacably set against them?

A new play by Ashmeed Sohoye about the battle between choices, expectations and breaking free.

Suitable for ages 14 and over.

"Its liveliness and Sohoye's compassionate eye ensure that this always feels like art and not social work. It's given a boost and a heightened reality by Natalie Wilson's neatly designed production, which demonstrates real flair." The Guardian

"Rigged is an immaculately well-written, intensely powerful piece about four interlinked 21st century lives, each in its way as tragic as King Lear." The Stage

Suitable for aged 14 and over. Runs for 60 minutes with no interval.

Anvil Arts Icarus Theatre Collective, Original Theatre Company, and Anvil Arts in association with South Hill Park Arts Centre present JOURNEY'S END by R.C. Sheriff.

26 - 30 January, 7.30pm | 28 & 30 Jan, 2pm matinees

Co-Produced & Directed by Alastair Whatley | Produced by Max Lewendel

Starring Graham Seed (from The Archers and lea...d from Midsummer Murders), Adam Best (from Holby City and Waking the Dead) and Christopher Harper

The young, talented and war-weary Captain Stanhope is confronted with the fresh face of his past as an old schoolmate joins his platoon. As the offensive looms ever closer, Stanhope must inspire his men to make the ultimate sacrifice for a war he no longer understands and for a cause he no longer remembers.

This compelling play based on R. C. Sherriff's own experience in the trenches of World War I with its heroism, humour and inevitable tragedy shows courage in the face of uncertain odds. All staged within Stanhope’s claustrophobic dugout, time creeps to a standstill as soldiers await their orders before racing to its heart wrenching climax as these young men face their ‘Journey’s End’.

The team who brought the fantastic Vincent in Brixton to The Haymarket in March 2009, Icarus Theatre Collective and Original Theatre Company are creating a very traditional take on this compelling play, setting the ten-person cast in a realistic Dugout filling the theatre with the sights and sounds of WWI.
