I felt so sorry to see the Enterprise being scrapped, almost had a tear in my eye. Such a sad end to a great fighting ship.

My grandfather was a soldier in the 6th division, 1st regiment of the Army. He faught in Papua New Guiena, and also landed in Luzon, Phillipines as part of the Sixth Army--in which the task force that Enterprise was a part of helped protect.
My grandpa told me stories of the Luzon campaign, but it is really interesting to get the "bigger 360 picture" to see what actions were taken at sea so the invasion force could land. God Bless all those who served then, and serve now!
