Bras for a Cause promotes breast health, awareness
What better way to raise awareness about breast health than through the garments that support them? Women’s Council of Realtors Northeast Tarrant County is proud to host the first annual "Bras for a Cause”, a unique and fun way of raising awareness about breast
cancer.
T...he event will be at Glass Cactus on Oct. 19, from 7-11:00 pm. The decorated bras will be premiered in a runway show, modeled by local Firefighters and auctioned off to benefit Susan G. Komen of Tarrant County. In addition, there will be music, food, entertainment, and silent auction.
Fifty percent of the auctioned bras will be earmarked for local breast cancer awareness programs that directly benefit women in Tarrant County. WCR has a lofty goal of raising $15,000 this year, and with your generosity, that will be possible!
Despite having 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in 2008, 182,460 women will be found to have invasive breast cancer, and 40,480 women will actually die from the disease this year. Bras for a Cause
is a one-of-a-kind event that will encourage men and women to be observant of those staggering numbers and their own breast health during October - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month - as well as the
rest of their lives.
