1 Gyro The earth under his feet jolted and rumbled with grandiose insanity. Reggie staggered across the lawn in the backyard, jumped into his spacecraft and the cockpit lights snapped on. Pale blue illumination highlighted the interior...

“There’s no hurry, dad.”
"Quake subsided. All controls functioning"—Gyro dispatched in electromagnetic green waves across the screen.
“Thank you, Gyro. Stand by for further instructions.”
Reggie opened the envelope. He pulled out a six page letter. The title on the top of the first page, The Dog in the Fog, split a smile across Reggie’s lips.

“Mom, dad, are you okay?”
They waved. “We’re good, Reggie. That was a big one.” His dad’s voice spewed a red pulse wave across the LCD screen. “The last guests left and we’re clearing the dishes off the table. I’ll be in the lab in a few minutes to trouble shoot a bandwidth pooling. I’ll come out there afterwards.”

Ben Campbell Reggie snapped off his flight cap and laid it on the passenger’s seat. A chunk of brown hair fell over his forehead when he reached under his seat and pulled out a large manila envelope. He touched the display screen in front of him and the intercom activated. He looked through the porthole and saw his parents looking at him through the kitchen door window.

Ben Campbell The genius boy worried about his parents. Even though the house was physically stabilized they disliked earthquakes as much as he did. Eddie and Luna looked out the kitchen door window, as they usually had—making sure Reggie was safe in the backyard.

“This is a huge quake, Gyro.” Reggie waved a thumb in front of the LCD control screen.
The female voice spoke in green waves. "Indeed it is, Reggie. Twenty-one seconds exactly. Transfer of data is complete."

When earthquakes hit they detonate and roll like slow motion epochs. The spacecraft’s gyro adjustments stabilized the vessel. Reggie focused on the large multi-dimensional control panel in front of him. This earth shudder lasted more than eighteen seconds. Ben Campbell He threw his foot-tall transformer action figure onto the back seat. You’d think Optimus Prime would be a cure-all. He should save the earth…not be afraid of it. Reggie looked out the porthole on the captain’s side of the ship. I wish I could save the earth.

The earth under his feet snapped then rolled like waves. Reggie staggered across the lawn in the backyard, jumped into his spacecraft and the cockpit lights snapped on. Pale blue illumination highlighted the interior. He fell into the Captain’s chair, adjusted his black leather flight cap that had a small visor and ear... flaps with a Velcro strap under his ten year old chin. He waved a hand and the door slid from the fuselage, shut and automatically locked.Read More
