Good Film
by Jeff at 12:27am on May 21st, 2008
Overall, Bend and Break was an enjoyable experience. There is definitly plenty of humor to go around and the characters are ve relatable. The film offers some good insight into relationships and the life. However there was definite problems with sound that plagued the film and the pacing lagged at times. But other then that amazing first debut!
Love can be as cold as a winter in Montreal
by Andy at 10:54pm on May 20th, 2008
If you're in tune with the wit of Ed Burns and Woody Allen you'll have a profound appreciation for the movie. Woody Allen said in a TIME interview that he felt nobody is influenced by his work, but this movie clearly demonstrates that there is a generation continuing his cinematic legacy of neurotic urban interpersonal relationships and I should think that would make him happy. This is a love letter to Montreal the way Manhattan was Allen's love letter to his city. You may very well watch the film feeling like it's not going anywhere or that it's about nothing, but isn't that what it feels like to be young? Or at least it does for me. It would seem out of place for me to compare this to Terms of Endearment but like that beautiful 1983 film Bend and Break's heart is full of versimilitude that correctly asserts how much life can suck and how much of a fairy tale it is not, but we are humans and we move on.
Great film!

B&B=MUST SEE

Indie films are so diverse these days, that when something extraordinary stands out you really have to share it. Bend & Break is worth the time! The move has a sense of realism and the entire cast is nothing but relatable. But more importantly the movie's humor is charming and will keep you entertained throughout. Such a great experience!

Redefining a Generation
by Marshall at 10:28am on May 3rd, 2008
This Slice-of-Life Romantic Dramedy speaks volumes about a generation that is always in between, always indecisive, and always wanting more out of life. Each character will tug your heart, pick your brain, and move your soul. Bend & Break is a personal story that every young adult has, at one point in time, experienced.
from what I've seen, IT'S AMAZING!!

The Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal is accepting submissions until June 30th. I'd love to see Bend & Break on the big screen there. Please consider it!
