New details! There will be a community discussion about how social justice feminism can inform our work at UC Berkeley directly following the Social Justice Feminism presentation. The community discussion will take place at the Gender Equity Resource Center in 202 Chavez – the 5-7pm event time includes the community discussion!

The community discussion is being organized by the Prism Peer Educators, who are leaders in women’s and LGBT organizations at UC Berkeley interning at GenEq to build leadership skills and work collaboratively with other leaders. GenEq is accepting applications for Prism Peer Educators for Spring 2010 – see http://geneq.berkeley.edu/internships for complete information!

Gender Equity Resource Center CDAD is a new program designed to provide Cal students with a space for on-going dialogue around issues of difference and identity in social and cultural groups.
Five dialogue groups will take place this fall. Each dialogue group is facilitated by trained faculty and staff and will meet weekly over eight weeks between ...September 21 and November 18, 2009.
If selected, participants are expected to make a commitment to attending each of the eight sessions during the fall semester. Work (e.g. readings) for the dialogue groups will be kept to a minimum because we know you are busy students!

These dialogue groups are not credit bearing classes. They are designed for your interest, personal growth, learning and development.

A. Slumdog Millionaire, The Pursuit of Happyness, and Wall Street -- Are we living in a material world?

B. Beyond Pink & Blue: Illuminating Diversities of Gender & Sexuality
