The Alabama Theatre for the Performing Arts hosts many live events, as well as films. Each year the Theatre hosts over 300 events attended by a half million Birmingham area citizens.

Freda Wonderful memories of the Alabama theatre, as a child, going with my Mom to the Ladies Matinee show. Must have seen "where the Boys are" 100 times... Have been taking my girls to the Christmas movie at the Alabama for 20+ years. Love this place.

Lee Chaney I have wonderful memories of that theater. I remember saturday morning at the movies for 6 Royal Cola bottle caps. We rode the bus from Norwood to the theater and then went to Pete's Famous Hot Dogs on 2nd and 20th....wow I miss those days
Carol Malcolm Goss I have wonderful memories of the theater. I had the opportunity to play the organ once. I think I played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! My Dad was an usher during the late 40's or early 50's. He and my mother spent many dates at the Alabama Theatre. Now with both of them gone I think of them every time I get the pleasure of going to the theater.
