UAB Basketball Breast Cancer Awareness Game
Friday February 20,2009
Time: 7pm doors open at 6pm
Location: Bartow Arena
Age Level: all ages including family and friends
Cost: Free with ticket / stop by local service center office to get your tickets
Registration deadline: none
UAB Athletics is teaming up with the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center for the PINK ZONE game in efforts to raise breast cancer awareness in the UAB and Birmingham communities.
The first 1,000 guests will receive a FREE Pink Zone T-shirt and a pink shaker!
A silent auction will be held to benefit breast cancer research. The silent auction will begin at 6PM on the Bartow Arena Concourse.
All proceeds from this game will be donated to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Breast cancer survivors will also be honored and recognized at halftime and throughout the game.

Travel the World at KPC
Come out and enjoy early Holiday and New Year festivities from around the world at KPC on Saturday, December 6. You can celebrate with the rest of the world by immersing yourself in 12 different cultures. Our own Girl Scouts will take you on a journey to Italy, Nigeria, Mexico, India, Sweden, China, Greece, Russia, France, Ireland and Germany.
Share Italian stories, make nativity ornaments; experience the Indian Festival of Lights and the Chinese New Year; sing German songs and attend a surprise demonstration; listen to African music, play Nigerian games, make Nigerian Christmas leaves; enjoy Christmas music played by French horns, make French flowers; sample cookies, French Food, skits and other treats from.
Bring your friends, we will provide the passport!

Girls Needed for Inner-City Service Project
The Leadership Circle (group of young professionals ages 25-35) are hosting a Career Development Workshop for Brownies at Juniors at the downtown YMCA Youth Center in Birmingham (located at 2400 Seventh Avenue North, Birmingham, 35203) on Saturday, November 1st. They are in need of Cadettes and older to help man these career stations and help girls complete the activities. The workshop will be from 9 AM to Noon, and volunteers need to arrive by 8:15 AM. If you can help, please email Cutressa Williams (the service committee chairman of the group) at cutressawilliams@gmail.com.
