Ice-skating… in California? By the BEACH? ON SHABBAT? That’s right! Birthright Israel NEXT Los Angeles brings you the first in a series of Active Outdoor Shabbat celebrations!...
The inaugural event will take place at ICE in Santa Monica, the outdoor skating rink only blocks from the Pacific Ocean and Third Street Promenade! Before we start skating we will gather under our very own private party tent for a full kosher Shabbat dinner catered by Real Food Daily.
The meal will begin with a short Shabbat service led by members of your very own community – other Birthright Israel alumni just like you! After the candles are lit, the wine is sipped and the Challah has been torn apart… let the ice-skating begin! But please, wear warm socks. Birthright Israel NEXT assumes no responsibility for frost-bitten footsies!
If you’d like to lead one of the Shabbat blessings (wine, bread, Shabbath) or contribute something to our Shabbat like a song, poem, etc. please let us know how you’d like to participate by emailing ally.iseman@birthrightisraelnext.org
