Canadian Punk Rock Supergroup Make Their UK Debut Proper.
Wade Macneil knows how to play the blues. The Alexisonfire guitarist has sunk his heart and soul into his new Black Lungs project and it shows. Backed up by fellow AOF man George Pettit on bass, Cancer Bats frontman Liam Cormier on Drums and Moneen keyboardist Harris Cohojic, there's no hesitation as the burly frontman takes centre stage and proceeds to thunder through his new collection of songs.
The Black Lungs take MacNeil's roughneck punk and old school hardcore influences, his affection for Hank Williams Jr and whirls them into one headspinning whole, leaving an impact that can be felt only from an evocative, personal project. He dedicates Timeless to his enduring friendship with Pettit and In Memory to his grandfather, but doesn't let sentiment get in the way of a goose bump soliciting rock 'n' roll show, where he's happy to high five with the crowd....
