Hayley Lauterbach Hello. I was just wondering, do you accept volunteers to work backstage to gain experience in the industry?
Thank you.

To be honest we generally only have a limited number of secondments available and I think current production and design students would probably get the most out of the secondments. But if you want, send your CV to our production manager (contact details on our website) - can't promise anything though.

Black Swan State Theatre Company The Sapphires
by Tony Briggs

Featuring Aljin Abella, Hollie Andrew, Christine Anu, Jimi Bani, Casey Donovan, Kylie Farmer, Kenneth Ransom and Oliver Wenn.

Meet the McCrae sisters - four gorgeous singers from country Victoria whose biggest dream is to become as famous as their Motown idols.

It is 1969, and their Supremes c...over band is performing in St Kilda's Tiki Club when the sisters are spotted by a talent scout. Soon they are dreaming of fame, fortune and glamorous international careers. Instead, these Koori divas find themselves in the war zone of Vietnam, entertaining the troops.

Based on the true story of his mother's and aunts' showbiz careers, Tony Briggs has created a steamy and swinging medley of the highs and lows of family, love, war and the hottest soul music in the jungle of 'Nam!

Wesley Enoch directs this feel-good production full of the Motown classics that defined a generation, and our leading ladies are sure to raise the roof of the Playhouse Theatre as they perform such hits as Love is like a Heatwave, Respect, and Higher & Higher.

Reading The Sapphires script, what is it that attracted you to the story? I was drawn to the fact that the story is based on true events. I grew fond of the sisters’ relationships with (and between) each other as well as their pathway they each individually travel. ...
