Praise God it said that we are "being" transformed. I am not there yet...that is for sure. But by the power of the Holy... Spirit, God is changing each believer into the image of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We cannot do it by ourselves. We need God's grace, His power, His longsuffering, and His promise that He will accomplish it.
Do not be discouraged today if you do not feel like you are the image of Christ, because none of us are...YET. But in a moment, when we turn our eyes upon Him, confess our sinfulness, we can begin today anew in the mercies of the LORD!Read More

Digging into God's word is amazing! In Joshua 2:15, Rahab lets the two spies down from her window, on a scarlet rope. The Hebrew word is Chebel חֶבֶל Strongs number H2256.
A few verses later in Joshua 2:18, Rahab is instructed to drop the same rope down again, 3 days later. But now the Hebrew word has changed from Chebe...l to Tiqvah Chuwt, תִּקְוַת חוּט Strongs numbers H8615 and H2339.
Make sure you look at the "C" button for these two verses, and check out the meanings for H2256 in verse 15, and H8615 in verse 18. Click on each Strongs number and look at how they are used in the Bible, using the concordance tables.
In three days, Rahab's sorrow turns into hope! Her three days were like Esther's, or Abraham's, or Noah's.

Yesterday at our weekly staff devotions, we spent some time looking at the word "overcomer" especially in its use in the Book of Revelation (the link below gives a listing of its use in the NT). Some of the things I took away from that time, was the following:
. In 1 John 5:5, the use of the word ties 'overcoming' to a... true faith in Jesus Christ! It's about our faith not our works.
. Then several verses in Revelation show the benefits of overcoming, e.g., Rev 2:7 says the overcomer gets to eat of the tree of life which is in the middle of the Paradise of God!
. Christ tells us to be of good cheer even in the midst of tribulation. Being in the midst of tribulation bears no relationship to our overcoming, which is in Christ Jesus (John 16:33). Christ has ALREADY overcome the world!
