They make up the profits with the added volume, just like others business' that have to live with the fair trade laws.

What value do the Healthcare companies provide anyway?

When you think about it they simply push paper around, slow and complicate the process of getting medical attention. Why not simply make the process of making insurance payments and getting medical attention automated - cut out the middle man entirely.
