Sobre mi:
Bob Dixon currently represents northeast Springfield and parts of southeast Springfield and Greene County in the Missouri House of Representatives.

He was elected to the House in November 2002. Just two years later, his colleagues elected him Majority Caucus Chairman, and in 2006 unanimously re-elected him. He recently was appointed as Chairman of the House Transportation Committee.

Representative Dixon was also recently honored as one of Springfield’s “40 Under 40” by the Springfield Business Journal.

A 1987 graduate of Christian Schools of Springfield, Representative Dixon attended Southwest Missouri State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Distinction from Drury University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. He earned his Master in Education from Drury University in May, 2009.

Representative Dixon serves as a member of the National Conference of State Legislatures Standing Committee on Economic Development, Trade and Cultural Affairs and the American Legislative Exchange Council’s Criminal Justice Task Force. In 2006, the Speaker of the House appointed him to represent that body on the Internet Cyber Crime Task Force, a panel that Representative Dixon helped establish, which awards grants to local law enforcement.

His legislative efforts and accomplishments have centered on crime prevention and public safety, the protection of children from predators and abusers, crime victims’ rights, the advancement of mental health, access to quality and affordable healthcare coupled with insurance reform, and increased funding for quality public education.

He has advocated for property tax reform and the ideals of liberty: limited, responsible government; individual freedom; and personal responsibility.

He recently sponsored and passed the Child Witness Protection Act which will guarantee children appropriate protections in all Missouri courtrooms.

Representative Dixon has received several awards and commendations for his service. In 2007, he was honored by the Missouri Judicial Conference for significant contributions to the advancement of the administration of justice, by the Springfield Public Schools and Burrell Behavioral Health for making a difference in the lives of children, and by NAMI Southwest Missouri with the Excellence in Government Award.

Also in 2007, the Springfield Firefighters Local 152 and the Springfield Police Officers Association recognized him for his legislative efforts and support.

In 2006, he was named Legislator of the Year by the Missouri Police Chiefs Association; given the 100% for Jobs Award by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and recognized for his leadership and support for children in crisis by CASA of Southwest Missouri, the Junior League of Springfield and the Child Advocacy Center.

In 2005, the Missouri Foundation of the Grand Order of Pachyderms honored him with the Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award for excellence in constituent service and Associated Industries of Missouri named him Outstanding Legislator.

In 2004, and again in 2006, he received the Missouri Farm Bureau Friend of Agriculture Award.

The Missouri Physical Therapy Association and the Missouri Assisted Living Association have recognized him for service to Missouri in the field of healthcare.

Representative Dixon and his wife, Amanda, have three daughters: Grace, Rose and Olivia. They live in Springfield’s historic Midtown neighborhood and are active members of Central Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his legislative duties, Representative Dixon is a Relationship Manager for Heartland Payment Systems, a payroll and bankcard transaction processing company. He was previously employed by two Springfield banks, where he received various commendations for his dedication to customer service.
