Boca Raton, FL – On Wednesday, September 30, 2009 officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department responded to a report of a burglary to a vehicle and subsequent fraudulent debit card purchases.
Officers met with the victim, Tatjana Piazza-Trapani, at 260 South Dixie Highway. The victim said her van was parked ...in the parking lot between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29. The vehicle was possibly unlocked and no force was used to enter it.
The victim’s wallet, which contained two debit cards, her cell phone, and a number of power and hand tools were taken.
The suspect used the victim’s debit cards as several different locations, one of which was caught on surveillance video. If anyone recognizes the white male making a purchase at the counter in the video please call Detective Mark Horowitz at (561) 338-1392.

Boca Raton, FL – The Boca Raton Police Services Department will be hosting the “In Pursuit of Safety” expo, on Saturday, October 10, 2009. This VIPER community event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Town Center Mall (6000 West Glades Road) in the parking lot near Sears.
Many different Boca Raton Police s...pecialty units will be featured, including the Motorcycle Unit, the S.W.A.T. Team, the Bomb Squad, the Underwater Search and Recovery Team, and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. The Army, Marines, Navy, Project Lifesaver, Poison Control, and the Boca Raton Community Hospital therapy dogs will also be participating.
Planned activities include musical entertainment, face painting, sand art, a super slide, arts and crafts, and a bounce house. Bicycle safety educators will distribute bicycle helmets and certified child passenger safety technicians will assist with the installation of your child’s car seat. There will be special appearances by Joey the Clown, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Victor the VIPER.
