Boise Weekly NYT on the future of farming: vertical and urban? http://bit.ly/jBgJs

If climate change and population growth progress at their current pace, in roughly 50 years farming as we know it will no longer exist. This means that the majority of people could soon be without enough food or water. ...

I really like the idea of utiliizing all available space to grow whatever plants suit the situation, flowers, vegetables, etc. Bring a little softness and life to the urban setting, not to mention food!

Boise Weekly we've started a camper's book of etiquette. come on, you know you have something to add to the list. http://bit.ly/4F1kIp

Rule No. 1: When heading out to do some primitive camping (that’s camping not in a campground), don’t set up camp right next to someone else. People who grab their tents and head out into the boondocks usually want to get away from other people. ...

Whatever happened to the good old camping days? Load up the pickup with scrap lumber, a ratty old tent, a couple of sleeping bags, a cooler full of food and three coolers full of beer, wiskey and tequila. Drive into the woods until you ran out of people then pull over to a wide spot on the dirt road and start drinking. If the tent got put up that was a bonus but a fire was essential. Drunk for the weekend in the woods! Whatever happened to the good old camping days?

The 2C Dems polled 293 people at the Canyon County Fair and found that 47% of the Republicans, 49% of the Independents and 79% of the Democrats favored single payer or public option programs. And this is Idaho!

I am at a loss as how to respond to such an issue. The scope of the healthcare overhaul goes so far beyond the debate of 100% healthcare coverage that I doubt most of us (including myself) really have a grasp on what and who would be involved. It has literally taken years to get all of the involved parties to agree to realitively simple aspects of ... Read Morethe industry such as the updated medical coding sytem, which the rest of the world adopted almost 10 years ago.

At some point in time someone will need to make the statement that if the U.S. is to have healthcare for all then the only way that will happen is to have a system of socialized healthcare. That really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone and it's not like we don't already have socialized healthcare already in place for certain segments of the population (Medicare and Medicaid). It would be a natural extension to just expand those programs to include the remainder of the population.

Healthcare is a debate we should have!
