This is Carlos, one of the directors of Habla ya Language Center! He came with us on the hike to the volcano, and even volunteered to carry the heavy backpack of one of the students!!! What a gentle man!

¡Hola! We got your email now. Don't worry, we'll walk you through it. On Monday we'll send you specific details. Most students can just show up and pay upon arrival (we just need their dates) but for someone from Nigeria there is a Visa process. We'll get back to you with more info on Monday. Have a nice weekend!

Erica

Erica I recently spent 3 months at Habla Ya learning spanish and it was an AMAZING experience. The school and teachers are extremely professional, yet the environment and people are so friendly and welcoming. My teacher, Ericka, became a good friend and a good chunk of my spanish was learnt through chit chat and gossip- a great way to learn the language! Her teaching method was perfect for my learning style and I am now proud to say that it is a breeze to read a spanish novel cover to cover!

I also chose to take classes that would prepare me for DELE certification. Ericka worked hard on creating a mock exam for me, to prepare me for the real test....although it took a good 3 hours, the practice test made me realize just how prepared my classes made me for the DELE certification.

As for Boquete, I truly miss the town! The scenery is beautiful, the climate is perfect and the people are wonderful. Coming down to Panama as a single female, I felt very safe in Boquete. I hope to return soon!

Laurie Holland

Laurie Holland Wow, I've only been here a week so far and I'm already dreading to leave! I am staying with a host family here (the best family ever!) and studying at Habla Ya Language Center. The staff at Habla Ya are SO WONDERFUL to work with and learn from.....so are the local people here (they are very friendly and try to help you with your Spanish). I am especially impressed by the level of professionalism that this school possesses. They've organized everything for me (airport pick-up, home stay, eco-adventure tours, class schedule, etc.). I'm really enjoying meeting people from all over the world and learning about each of their cultures, as well as the culture of Panama. And the beauty of Boquete......WOW!!

Gracias Laurie, este es Carlos.
Cuando termines tu curso, tu español será mucho mejor!
y todavía falta mas tiempo para que hagas mas amigos en Boquete =)
Amy

Amy Me encanta Habla Ya! I'm currently learning spanish here- there is so much to do in Boquete, I'm having such a great time. Living with a host family is so good for my spanish, as are the 4 hour of classes! You never get bored though, the teachers end up being friends! I´m doing some volunteering in the mornings and adventure activities most weekends, or social stuff depending what i´m in the mood for. Tonight I´m going out for drinks becuase it´s one students birthday, and hopefully will get in some salsa dancing! Gracias por está opportunidad, Habla Ya! Time is flying by way too fast!

¡Qué buena onda! Nos encanta tener a estudiantes como tú... =) Por cierto... te ves bien aventurera en ese Zipline... o como dicen los gachupas: "tirolesa"!
Romana

Romana Muchísimas gracias Habla Ya!!!
I and a friend went to Boquete in December 2006 without having an idea what is going to happen and in the end it was better than our expectations could have ever been. Living with a local family was the first step to get to know the Panamanian way of life :-)
And with Vielka’s help it didn’t take us long to say first words, to form first sentences and then, poco a poco, have a first “real” conversation. Best teacher ever!
Of course we also took part in the countless activities such like going to Caldera Hot Springs, playing ultimate Frisbee, doing some Canopy or just going out. One of the greatest highlights was the hike to the top of the Baru Volcano (“We did it!”)
It was not hard to get a member of this big unique family that will be always in my heart. Can’t wait to come back and see you guys again!!

Graeme Cherry

Graeme Cherry Hola Habla Ya,
Just saying a big whats up to all the great people I met in Boquete though Habla Ya. Trouble is, I should have studied there for a bit longer.
Ismenia..., my one only Spanish professor! I'm studying French now, and I have to say that you set an impossibly high standard as a teacher. I can't help but to compare my new teacher to you. Also, to Carlos, thanks for getting in touch! I didn't realize Habla Ya had a fan page. Hope all is good with you.
Take care everyone!
