Thinking more about today's conversation. I think 'discernment' has to do with taking the time to make sure that head, heart, and gut are all aligned so we can walk our walk with integrity.

Dear friends,
As many of you know, Maine residents are about to vote on whether or not they will block legislation granting the right for same-sex couples to marry in Maine. MassEquality is lending support in getting out the vote via phone banks and trips to Maine. Matthew and Kenny have already phoned, and it is really... easy and fun!
If you would like to help out with calls, even for an hour or so,
calling starts at 10am every day and continues until 9pm, except on election day, when it goes until the polls close at 8pm. It's really easy: you go to the MassEquality office on the 7th floor of 262 Washington Street, they give you a script to use as a guide, and they even order pizza in the evenings! There are also day trips to Maine on Saturday and Tuesday. Kenny will be making more calls on Saturday afternoon, and Matthew will be making more calls after church on Sunday!
