Brian Tomlinson is a vice president and fixed-income portfolio manager with PIMCO in Munich, Germany. He is a member of both the liability driven investment adn global foreign exchange strategy teams. Brian is also active in business development and public speaking, and servesd as PIMCO Europe's relationship manager wi...th European official institutions. Tomlinson holds an undergraduate degree in International Business and Finance from Northeastern University. His global career started with his co-op in Stuttgart, Germany in 1989.

Northeastern University Libraries Back by popular demand, Cathcart and Klein return to Snell Library to share their newest book, subtitled “Using Philosophy (and Jokes!) to Explore Life, Death, the Afterlife and Everything in Between.” The pair uses a witty and lighthearted approach in examining what major philosophers such as Kierkegaard, Descartes, and Sartre wrote about death.

Northeastern University Libraries Llanos-Figueroa's novel, Daughter of the Stone, focuses on five generations of Afro-Puerto Rican women from the mid-1800s to the present. The story begins in Africa and follows Fela and her husband, who perform a tribal ceremony, pouring the essence of their unborn child into a stone. The couple is then separated by sl...avery. Throughout the next four generations, the power of this stone is revealed.

Northeastern University Libraries Author Hank Klibanoff and filmmaker Judy Richardson will visit Northeastern this Wednesday, Ocotber 7, for an interactive forum entitled “The Race Beat: Then and Now.” Klibanoff is the co-author of The Race Beat, and the current managing editor of the Cold Case Truth and Justice Project, an investigative venture betwee...n filmmakers, lawyers, and advocacy groups which hopes to fill in history’s gaps of the Civil Rights movement. Richardson is an award-winning filmmaker who will show a clip from her latest documentary, Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre 1968, which chronicles the Civil Rights-era murder of three black students at South Carolina State College. The talk will be held at the NU School of Law (65 Forsyth Street, 230 Dockser Hall) on Wednesday, October 7 at 6 pm.This event is co-sponsored by the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project, NU Libraries, the NU Law Forum, and the School of Journalism.
