The Red Sox, Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates made a complex deal to send Jason Bay to Boston and four young players to Pittsburgh. When a Florida Marlins- Red Sox - Pirates deal fell through earlier today, the Dodgers stepped in to grab the member of the 500 HR club.

The Dodgers are in second place in the National League West, one game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Is the current series of Manny-being-Manny getting to be too much? The Sox have lost 3 straight, being swept by the Angels, and are 3 games behind Tampa Bay.

Dustin Peddroia lined a single to left in the ninth inning to break up a no-hitter by John Lackey in Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels, then Kevin Youkilis hit a 2-run home run. It wasn't enough, though . The Angels won 6-2.

Manny Ramirez, the one who wouldn't mind playing for Iraq, hit his 20th home run of the season on Monday, making him only the eighth player in history to have hit that milestone in 14 consecutive seasons. The Sox lost to the Angels 7-5.
