Bowerman Athletic Club The Bowerman Athletic Club is kicking off its community outreach program with this Sunday’s Portland Marathon from 7AM to 10AM.

In an effort to expand the club, build team unity, and help the Portland area running community we will be cheering on the runner’s in the Portland Marathon at the St. John’s Bridge and on the... bridge’s uphill approach (miles 16-17). Come out Sunday, October 4th to help the runner’s up the race’s most significant climb. Masters, kids team, recreational, elite or anyone interested in the club is invited. Wear your BAC colors and feel free to bring any family and friends so we can surround the course with BAC enthusiasm. Make signs, bring bullhorns, or use your creativity to show the running community that the BAC is the greatest club in Portland (if not the nation). Our goal is to make the loneliest section of the course the most memorable for the athletes.

So, here are the details for marathon morning, Sunday, October 4th:

7:00 AM-Power breakfast at Hossein Baghdadi’s house at 2164 NW Hoyt Street, Portland. If you plan on attending, please notify Hossein (hossein.baghdadi@nike.com) so we can plan on food and carpooling.

8:00 AM to 10:00 AM- Meet at the St. John’s Bridge and NW Bridge Ave support the runners. Plan on parking on the northern end of Bridge Ave, near Germantown Rd as course closures will limit options close to the bridge. I’ve attached course closure information. People are encouraged to stay until 11:00 AM so we can help out as many runners as possible.

Afterwards, there will be a group run in Forest Park from the Germantown Road Trailhead.

Please RSVP so we can have a rough idea on a headcount. ]

Let’s get out there and rock the Portland Marathon as only the BAC knows how to.

See you Sunday and if you’re racing the best of luck to you!

Be There. Be Wild. Be in BAC gear!
