Award winning novelist, Jonathon King, talks about his latest book, "The Styx", a departure from his popular detective novel series. The plot revolves around an oft rumored..., racially charged incident on the island of Palm Beach in the early 20th century.
Host Ann Bocock also interviews representatives of "Guardian Ad Litem": Ellen Kranzler, who first volunteered as a result of an interview we did with this group awhile back, and Peter Braun. Both talk about this critical service to vulnerable children who need an adult to help and protect them as they make their way through the legal system.
They are joined by "Areanna" who now works in the PalmBeach County court system after spending her childhood in the foster care system and finally assisted throughher troubles by GAL. She talks evocatively about how critical the GAL service was to her getting to where she is now. If you'd like to volunteer, or need more info, call 561-355-2773 or go to http://www.guardianadlitem.org.
