Breastfeeding Philippa has had a few enquiries about greetings cards with Cassie's painting on and is considering getting some printed. They would be blank for your own message. If you'd be interested in buying some please email P at editor@laleche.org.uk so that she can get an idea of demand.

My daughter born with Down syndrome and a hearrt defect could not nurse. She was on an NG Tube until heart surgery, I pumped for 7 months religiously and kept putting her to breast. The heart surgeon said she'd never breastfeed and the nurse said to keep trying. One month after her surgery, she latched on!!! And went from 7 months to 19 months.
My... See More son, now 4, breastfed till 3 years (only at night the last year) and I had a sugery when he was 2 and in the hospital for 9 days. Not getting to feed him often. When I got home, he took right back to it.
My daughter, 9 months, nursed from the very first second and is now in the 75th percentiile for weight.
So blessed to hear all the stories.

My first son nursed wonderfully for 7 months. I'm not sure what happened to my milk supply but it faded out. I was so sad and frustrated. When my husband and I got pregnant with Jaxson I was couldn't wait to try again. When we found out that he had Down Syndrome I was told by almost every Doctor that nursing wouldn't happen. He's almost 5 months ... See Moreold and has nursed better than his brother and has not had a drop of formula! Both of my boys are perfect and I couldn't have asked for better. YAY for Breastfeeding and Up with Downs:)

To determine whether, in infants with a tongue-tie and a feeding problem, the current medical treatment (referral to a lactation consultant) or immediate division works best and enables the infants to feed normally.
