You are cordially invited to San Francisco’s historic and very glammy Herbst Theatre to experience a mind-blowing evening of comedy and 2010 countdown to ring in the New Year. The evening features some of today's most groundbreaking comedians... including Will Franken (Montreal Comedy Festival), Moshe Kasher (Comedy Central), Brent Weinbach (Andy Kaufman Award), Loren Kraut, special guests, and hosted by Jill Bourque. There will be music, surprises, and an exciting 2010 countdown balloon drop at midnight.
Let's face it. The past ten years have been kind of sucky, but there is a gleaming new decade just around the corner. So, let's start the next ten years off right with not your normal brand of stand-up, but rather exciting comedy that's daring, different, and totally hilarious.
BRENT WEINBACH has been called "obscenely, disturbingly brilliant” by the LA Weekly. The East Bay Express said "Weinbach’s comedy is about poaching characters from real life and inhabiting them that you forget who you’re watching onstage.” He is the winner of the 2007 Andy Kaufman Award, a coveted prize given to "promising performers with the potential to impact the evolving culture of comedy."
WILL FRANKEN was named "Best Comedian" by SF Weekly. The New York Times says "What elevates Mr. Franken above your garden-variety comedian is an erudite wit and a highly developed sense of the absurd." Rob Avila at the SF Bay Guardian said "Imagine a surreal-estate agent guiding you through some Escher-like architectural marvel, where each room is it's own deeply funny, satirical dream."
MOSHE KASHER just won the prestigious “Best of the Fest” at the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival. The SF Examiner says he “displays a firey frustration and agile, confident showcase of his neuroses.” And Punchline magazine says he "has a powerful comedic voice and amazingly wide range."
