This is the G1 Draft Horse #5055 - also known as the Old Mold SM Drafter. Sculpted by Maureen Love Calvert and released in 1976, he remains a favorite even though there's not much muscle on him anymore... but there's still a lot of him to love! We think this was an SR created in 1989 for the Sears Wis...h Book though it looks much lighter than others we've seen. Anyone have any other ideas?Več

Breyer® Named Official Model Horseof the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games
The world’s finest model horse brand and the world’s most prestigious equestrian competition are joining together, as Breyer Animal Creation and the World Games 2010 Foundation today announced Breyer’s sponsorship of the Alltech FEI World E...questrian Games. The Games will be held September 25-October 10 in Lexington, Kentucky, and will feature the world championships in eight equestrian sports.
As part of the partnership, Breyer has commissioned sculptor Kathleen Moody to create a sculpture to symbolize the spirit of the horses competing in eight different disciplines. Known as “Esprit,” the sculpture will be available in several mediums to commemorate the Games. Esprit will be the first model available - in late January - of the suite of WEG models that Breyer will produce to commemorate the horses of the 2010 Games.
Breyer will also create a number of Traditional® Series portrait models of key competitors from various disciplines, play sets for children incorporating the WEG disciplines and other commemorative products.
In addition, Breyer will create an interactive play area for children, incorporating equine-themed activities using Breyer’s realistic model horses and pint-sized jumps for children!
“Breyer is proud to support the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, where the world’s finest riders and equine athletes will become heroes to the next generation of budding young riders,” said Stephanie Macejko, Vice President of Marketing at Breyer. “We are looking forward to what will certainly be the highest caliber of competition in all eight disciplines, a first on U.S. soil.”
“Breyer model horses are iconic in the equine industry, and we are proud to have Breyer as part of the 2010 Games family,” said Terry Johnson, Vice President of Sales for the World Games 2010 Foundation.
“Breyer’s creation of the official model horse sculptures will provide spectators and fans with a beautiful memento of the 2010 Games. Their sponsorship also adds to the family-friendly atmosphere at the Games with the addition of the Breyer interactive play area.”

Breyer Model Horses The Lipizanners have been in town so we were thinking of those Baroque beauties when we spied the small but mighty Andalusian. This mold is #5606 sculpted by Kathleen Moody and first introduced by Breyer in 1998 with the other G2 Stablemates.

Breyer Model Horses
This mold is Maureen Love Calvert's Swaps (#604) introduced in 1975, making him 34 years old! This model is Item #266 - Cloud (because the large resist blotches look like puffy clouds clearly). Cloud was released in 1995-1996 with the ribbon. It's hard to see from this picture but his face is supposed to be bald - thi...s one doesn't have pink hooves either - if you look really closely, this one has a fair amount of wear and tear. Still, I really love the alert, intelligent expression, the set of the head and overall 'presence' that this model horse evokes - some 35 years after it was sculpted, a quick glance immediately gives you a sense of its quality and correctness.Več

Breyer Model Horses This is a prototype for a project in progress. A "gold" palomino Classics Black Stallion. The mold is #3030BS which was sculpted by Christian Hess and released for the first time in 1983. Don't you just love this shimmery gold deco?

Breyer Model Horses And the offside view of Dallas - another Lone Star Experience SR. C'mon, you knew we'd have to name at least one of them Dallas :-)

Breyer Model Horses The Horse Boy - Another amazing story about the healing power of horses.
