Children's Museum of the East End - CMEE
CMEE’s popular family series continues on Friday, December 4 at 6 pm. Children are invited to come to the Museum in pajamas, eat pizza, listen to a story read by a guest reader, and create an art project.
This month, storyteller and teacher, Annette Doughtery will read “Winter Lights: A Season of Poems and Quilts” by A...nna Grossnickle Hines. This collection of poetry celebrates the lights of Hanukah, Christmas, St. Lucia Day, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice and Chinese New Year. The book also references other ‘lights’ including starlight, firelight, sunlight, morning light and the light of the aurora borealis. Following the reading, children will sing holiday songs and light a Menorah, Kwanzaa candles and a Christmas tree. As an art activity, they will create seasonal ornaments and crafts.
