2008 – 2009 WATER POLO QUEENSLAND AWARDS NIGHT
‘A CELEBRATION OF OUR SPORT’
To all affiliated clubs and associations;
The 2008 – 2009 Water Polo Queensland Awards Night will be held on Friday, 18th September, 2009 at the Ballymore Rugby Club commencing at 6:30pm.
This truly prestigious and important eve...nt will once again showcase and recognise the outstanding achievements of volunteers, coaches, officials and athletes involved in all aspects of water polo in Queensland. The night will also feature the annual induction of members into the Water Polo Queensland Hall of Fame.
Further details regarding final ticket costs will be advised shortly along with 2008 –2009 nomination forms and criteria.
We urge each and every club and association to support and encourage as many members as possible to attend this great event and continue what was an outstanding night last year.

Port Office in Brisbane has been chosen to be the Official Post Party Event after our Awards Night. There will be Free Transport from Event to Event and also Express Entry with Discounted Drinks.

Come along and enjoy the 2008 Water Polo Queensland Awards night at the Ballymore Rugby Club on Friday the 19th September which will be our fifth year of this event and also an Olympic Year. Tickets must be purchsed prior to the night to avoid disappointment as last year the night was a sell out. Tickets are $60 or a t...able of 10 can be purchased for $540.
Come and enjoy this prestiguous night where we recognise the many valuable volunteers and players who have contributed to the sport over the past year.
Award categories for the night are as follows,
* Service to Sport
* Volunteer of the Year
* Officator of the Year* Coach of the Year
* Club/Association of the Year
* Junior Male Player of the Year
* Junior Female Player of the Year
* Male Player of the Year
* Female Player of the Year
The evening also doubles as the Hall of Fame where we have an opportunity to induct 2 legends into the Hall of Fame for their contribution to the sport. Last year the players inducted were Russell Sherwell and Amanda Leeson-Smith.
Any member or affiliate of Water Polo Queensland can nominate people for the Awards night or Hall of Fame by completing and returning the nomination form(on website) to the office of Water Polo Queensland by the 11th August.
