Gosh darn it, poetic tragedy that I made it to Union Station at 3:26, missing the last train to zoo! Four minutes, oh well, Assistant Lead Keeper – Primates is vacant too! I am the individual The Chicago Zoological Society seeks in furtherance of the Society... See More’s mission to inspire conservation connecting people to wildlife. I was, as was everyone, extremely geeked and overexcited to see Governor’s Quinn so rightly reward the institution that contributed 150 million to the Illinois economy in 2009.
I see the potential for 1 billion this year if this 15.6 million dollars is used to - 1) attract new streams of revenue through Primate exhibition during the winter months before Great Bear Wilderness is completed in May, as well as - 2) utilize this period and funding to first and foremost at Brookfield, using Lincoln Park Zoo assistance, highlight breeding and exhibition of the growth of the primate’s of South America and habitat sharing American Alligator collection at both zoos, and lastly 3) work again with Lincoln Park Zoo in expediting greatly the day that Illinois has the only zoo’s to house Mountain Gorilla’s! Oh well back to getting this application in, I can’t believe I did not get to either zoo today!!!

Gosh darn it I missed it too! Yesterday was my first day and today was zoo day two! Was writing on Lincoln Park Zoo facebook yesterday about Brookfield and the American Aligator! Brookfield... See More’s “Feathers and Scales” birds and reptile exhibit currently under construction will make one heck of a home for American Alligators and Condors preparing to find a home at “city zoo” and would allow for expansion of Lincoln Park zoo’s current Carniverous vulture, African dwarf crocodile, and dwarf and specatled caimans! Thank GOD for the opening at Brookfield for Senior Vice President of Animal Care because what I am trying to do with Brookfield and Lincoln is identify food sources like Brookfield’s bison and blue duiker or the now absent Atlas Mountain Wild Boar and Ostrich, or non human food sources but tremendous breeders like African Dwarf Crocodile and colobus monkey and those Brookfield Alligators and Crocodiles, finding optimal breeding levels of the collections we already have started. This may take some fine tuning however because it is probably true (actually heard Lincoln Park meercat zookeeper talking about it) that when Brookfield and Lincoln Park collaborate on American Zoo and Aquarium (AZA) species survival plans it may not allow us to stockpile on certain species. Then again this may make it much more easier for us to concentrate on meat and fur species - beaver, llama, our two otter species, duiker, elk, Berkshire, Wild Pheasant, Wild Boar, Cornish Hen, Snowshoe hare, Champagne d'Argent rabbit, Bison, Scottish Aberdeen Black Angus, muskox, rein, white tail and white-lipped deer and Ostrich! I believe that our interest in Amur Leopards may be our lone wild cat free of such (AZA) species survival plan obligation and aggressive breeding of Amur Leopards frees us to move other cats to other/smaller indoor exhibits and overbreed Amur Leopard without AZA interference. However there is wartime advantage to overbreeding of the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Afghan Leopard that a zookeeper…or Broofield Zoo Senior Vice President of Animal Care like myself, would petition the AZA for permission for. You air drop a bunch of those…cubs…on Al-Qaeda - and they may have a problem. They may REALLY have a problem if the entire civilized world begins to breed Afghan Leopards for release into the Afghanistan landscape…huh we don’t even have any at Brookfield yet! Today was my SECOND visit…
