From Ben Brantley, The New York Times:
“Where are we without our stories?” The question was asked, not altogether innocently, by a character in ENDA WALSH’s dark and delicious “Walworth Farce,” seen at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn last year in a terrific produc...tion from the Druid Theater Company. In that labyrinthine tale of a reclusive father and his two sons – who spend their days re-enacting the same slice of family history over and over again – Mr. Walsh explored the dangerous intersection of memory and myth and confirmed his reputation as one of the liveliest and most devious Irish storytellers to grace the stage.
So it is happy news that the Druid has crossed the ocean once more (from Galway, Ireland) to present Mr. Walsh’s “NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM,” a work that might be seen as a gender-reversed companion piece to “The Walworth Farce.” Directed by Mr. Walsh, “Ballroom” – which begins previews at ST. Ann’s on Tuesday – is also about the distorted stories by which people live (and die). But in this case it’s a family of women, three sisters who exchange highly edited recollections of a life-changing night at the dance hall of the title. Expect to listen in rapture – and not to believe what you hear.Read More

“It’s not surprising that their cult following is worldwide…A Tiger Lillies gig is a journey into wild emotion which ...passes right through melodrama and out the other side into bizarre beauty.”- The Evening Standard
